Elections in Japan

Washington Post

The cabinet of Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi has set Sept. 11 as the date for an election for parliament's lower house, it said in a statement.
Is that symbolic, or what?!

  1. I was going to ignore your comments, and then I thought:'wait, he has a right to air his opinions.'. Furthermore, what you say is entirely on topic.
I will say this, however: I wish the world didn't revolve around 9/11 (or 11/9), but it often feels like it does.
My post may well have been provocative. However, I didn't assert that the choice of that day for an election was purposeful. Nothing much in politics, however, is coincidental. IMHO.

  2. In My Honest Opinion, I don't quite understand your comments on socialism. What 'socialist state' are you talking about? We used to have a socialist government in France. We apparently have one now in Britain. I'm not sure what the big deal is...
On free speech, actually i do worry about it. My whole purpose for blogging is in defense of free speech. I don't take offense personally when someone bans me from their blog, because so far it has only happened when they have been unable to find a logical argument. What offends me is that they compare me to bigots(though, to be honest, I can live with it!).
As I have said, my belief is first and foremost in freedom of expression. I know it doesn't exist, but that doesn't mean I can't fight for it.
    On japanese elections, who knows?
